SES World Cup Competition For Charity

World Cup Competition - Donna Louise Trust

After following the World cup in South Africa during the summer of 2010, over the last few weeks—as you are aware the final took place on Sunday 11th July 2010 between Spain and Holland.

SES Ltd held a competition whereby participants bought tickets to support teams throughout the world-cup. Just over half of the money raised from the ticket sales was put aside for Donation to the chosen charity of The Donna Louise Trust, and the rest was used as prize money.

Spain were crown champions and Dave Hague Jnr won the first prize of £45.00 with Nigel Lockwood coming runner up with prize money of £20.00, Jim Alderson had Germany and came 3rd with prize money of £10.00 and Martin Grocott had Uruguay and won £5.00 prize money.

Thank you to all those who took part and donated to the Donna Louise Trust, a total of £100 was raised from the football competition. In addition to this, £35.00 was donated at the Chester Races event, and £15.00 was raised from the company holding dress-down Fridays. We will be sending the total of £150 to the Donna Louise Trust from SES Limited. This amount added to another donation made earlier this year, brings the total to £450!

In a response from Chris Belyavin, a Community Fund-raiser at the Donna Louise Trust, they said;

"Thank you very much indeed for your further generous donation of £150 raised from a World Cup Competition, 'Dress Down Fridays' and other staff donations.
Following a very good financial year in 2009/2010, our aim for the current year is to do even better so that we can move closer to full time opening, 24 hours a day, 7 day a week and 52 weeks of the year.
It costs £2 million a year in fact, to provide this vital service for children and their families throughout Staffordshire and South Cheshire. We can only do this through the generous support of the local community so the help of SES is extremely important to us"
