Commissioning Engineer

Region: UK
Location: All over the UK based from home.
Reporting To: Commissioning Director

The Company is looking to recruit permanent, full time Commissioning Engineers to work with all equipment involved with network substations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive experience of working at voltages of up to 400kV in electricity substations
• Be trained on main suppliers Transmission and Distribution equipment (e.g. ABB, Alstom, Siemens)
• Be TP141 National Grid accredited, though the Company will consider applicants who are training for the TP141 qualification
• The ability to work UK wide
• Working days and times are largely influenced by outages and system requirements, therefore flexibility is required

Commissioning Engineers will be responsible for:

• Commissioning of primary, secondary and peripheral plant
• Responsible for verifying that plant is functionally operational and fit to be connected to the electricity network
• Rectification of faults, fault investigation and diagnostics at various voltages
• Safety in your site based commissioning activities
• Taking the lead role on assigned commissioning projects
• Collecting and finalising all commissioning documentation
• Giving technical support and guidance to other team members

Educational Qualifications

• University degree in relevant discipline
• Good standard of secondary education

Vocational Qualifications

• TP141 accredited or in training
• National Grid Competent Person
• BESC
• Safety Passport Card or equivalent
